The uniqueness of the Christmas in Orta

Do you remember those magical villages, where seems like time has stopped? You will experience this feeling in Orta, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. We are in Piedmont and more precisely on the shores of Lake Orta where cars can’t transit and where art is at home.

During the Christmas period the town becomes even more magical thanks to the set-ups and events that animate the village.

The main square of Orta, Piazza Motta, is a real living room overlooking the lake. Here to welcome you a majestic fir tree with warm lights and the red of the balls to warm the atmosphere. Just behind him you can see a slope that leads from the lake to the Sacro Monte di Orta (UNESCO World Heritage Site). This corner of the village is very scenic: some fir trees illuminated with cold lights guide the visitor to the church. A natural framework. Another very suggestive place is the courtyard of the Municipality of Orta. In this garden you can admire a fallen star at its center: on the left the statue of the painter and in front of the beauty of the island of San Giulio.
